What
is Miva?
Miva Merchant is an E-Commerce package that
includes all the capabilities of an online store.
It is a browser based storefront and catalog
development tool that integrates cataloging,
product, fulfillment, maintenance, category
management, shopping basket, order and credit
card processing.
How
do I set up a Miva account?
To sign up for a Miva Merchant account, contact
the Sales Team toll-free at 888-808-5468 or
via e-mail at sales@GoMetanet.com
You will receive a reply welcome e-mail that
will have instructions and a special license
key to help you set up your account. Once you
get the e-mail, log in to the URL from your
e-mail and follow the instructions on the screens.
Here are some notes to help you through them:
Log in to the URL given in your welcome e-mail
message. Your Miva Merchant License Number
will be found in the welcome e-mail message.
Unless you are upgrading, click Next
and ignore the Activate Upgrade License
link. Your Miva account will already have
the needed directories installed and you don't
need to change them. You should copy the information
for your further use. The Mail Server is:
mail.njd.xo.com .
The box next to Add Angle Brackets to Email
Addresses should be checked. Click Next.
The User Name is what you will use when logging
into the Miva site to set up your store. Also
make sure to remember your password. You will
be shown a screen to review your information.
Make any needed changes by clicking Previous
or click Finish to accept the information.
You will get a congratulations screen that
will list three important items:
The URL for the administrative interface.
This is where you go to build your store.
Your login name for entering the administrative
interface. The URL for your storefront --
where you send your customers.
What
versions of Miva Merchant, the client software,
do you support?
Currently, we support Miva Merchant 3.0, 2.13
and 2.0. Miva itself supports 3.0 only.
What
versions of Miva Empresa, the server software,
do you support?
Currently, we support Miva Empresa 3.72.
What
can I do if I want to access online support?
You can view Miva's site at www.miva.com.
Their Docs and Support links will link you with
an indepth collection of Miva reference materials.
You can also e-mail them at support@miva.com
There are also Miva Users Groups available to
join.
I
have signed up for Miva. Where is my store?
You need to setup your store:
For Windows NT or 2000 ® go to http://yourdomain.com/Merchant2/setup.mv
For UNIX or Linux go to http://yourdomain.com/Merchant/setup.mv
This
is where you initialize your MIVA store. You
will be prompted to enter a username and password
during the setup which will be used to log into
the administrative section of the store.
How
do I find my store after I have initialized
it?
Now you start developing your store:
For Windows NT or 2000® go to http://yourdomain.com/Merchant2/admin.mv
For UNIX or Linux go to http://yourdomain.com/Merchant/admin.mv
This
is where you develop your store. You need to
enter the administrative username and password
(created in the setup) to access this screen.
Once inside, you can develop your store by adding/deleting
products, categories, usernames and passwords.
I
have started to develop my store. How do I look
at it?
To look at your store:

How
do I show the world my store?
You can create a link on your web page using
the URL:

coding on your index.htm page. The code for

No. Setting up additional stores into a Miva
Mall is not supported.

What
is CyberCash?
CyberCash is an Internet Payment Service. An
Internet Payment Service enables you to accept
online payments from your customers and securely
processes these payments from your Web storefront
through the existing system of financial institutions
and credit card processors. We are a partner
of CyberCash. CyberCash authorizes your customer's
credit card purchases, captures payment, and
deposits it into your merchant bank account.

What
is PPI?
PPI is a financial institution merchant account
provider that manages your real-time credit
card processing. Once this account has been
applied for and approved, it is used along with
your CyberCash gateway account to process your
customer's credit card payments--which are then
deposited into your business banking account.
Obtaining approval for a PPI credit card merchant
account takes approximately 5 to 10 business
days, from receipt of your completed application,
since the account requires your signature as
well as the bank's approval.

CyberCash and PPI are our preferred partners
for e-commerce. However, you are not limited
to them and can use any e-commerce vendor of
your choice.
